Our PWD Story

Picture
My husband, Vic and I live in Corvallis, Oregon in the beautiful Willamette Valley. In the fall of 2008, we became co-owners with my sister-in-law of a championship Portuguese Water Dog, CH Farallon Prata Lua Jetta, a black curly female with a touch of silver fox coloring on her chest. My sister-in-law, Sandy Holden, and her husband Ron of Prata Lua kennels are active members in the Northern California Portuguese Water Dog club where they have raised Portuguese Water Dogs for more than fifteen years. With their guidance, we bred Jetta to a black and white wavy champion named Giovanni, Rustyco's Makin' the Girls Cry. On Dec.13, 2009, Jetta gave birth to nine adorable puppies that we raised in our kitchen/family room--see Previous Litter link. The puppies exceeded our expectations and the interest from potential owners convinced us to breed Jetta one more time. We are happy to report that on July 23, 2010, Jetta gave birth to six beautiful pups--three male and three females. In honor of the sire's name, Garth (Ikon's Time Bandit, one of Sandy's own dogs), we have named the litter after Country Western singers.  For more information on this litter, see New Litter and the Pedigree links on this website.
